This beginner-friendly lesson is designed for dance parents, dancers, aspiring costume makers and individuals who are already comfortable using a sewing machine and are ready to explore the techniques used to create dancewear and stretch garments.

In this 2-hour lesson, you'll learn how to confidently sew with stretch fabrics, understand the tools and techniques required, and gain the skills needed to achieve professional-looking results.

Class Duration: 2 hours

Prerequisites

This is a beginner class and assumes you have a basic understanding of how to use a sewing machine.

Before attending, you should be able to:

• Identify basic parts of a sewing machine
• Independently thread a sewing machine
• Sew basic straight seams using a sewing machine

No previous experience sewing with stretch fabrics is required

Please note, this class is not designed to teach you how to set up, familiarise yourself with or navigate a sewing machine. Instead, it focuses on introducing the techniques required to confidently sew with stretch fabrics.

Meet Your Teacher

This class is led by Deanne Cessario - Founder & Head Creative of Tutu Palazzo.

Deanne holds a Bachelor of Education, a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and has over 20 years of teaching experience. With extensive experience creating luxury dancewear and stage costumes, Deanne brings professional industry knowledge into every lesson.

Her passion is helping students understand the techniques behind beautifully finished garments while building confidence in their own creative abilities.
