Take your sewing skills into the world of dancewear and create your very own basic leotard from start to finish.
In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn the fundamental techniques of professional leotard construction, including working from a leotard pattern, cutting stretch fabric, using both a sewing machine and overlocker, constructing your garment and applying elastic for a comfortable, professional finish.
Leotard Lab 1 is the foundation for Leotard Lab 2 and is also the recommended prerequisite for our Learn To Tutu courses.

You've mastered the basics, now it's time to have some fun with design!
Building on the skills learnt in Leotard Lab 1, this workshop introduces more creative and advanced elements of leotard construction. You'll create your own multi-design leotard featuring princess seams, contrasting colours and a mesh front panel.
You'll develop your stretch sewing, pattern cutting and construction skills while learning how to incorporate these design elements into a professional dancewear garment.
